Thank you for everything you do for women fighting one of their biggest battles. It means so much, and for me personally, I never really sat and processed what it would mean to my family and my mental health if I were ever diagnosed. It’s staggering to me how quickly one phone call changed everything for my family unit and our day-to-day lives. I appreciate you and all the support communities. I have found more kindness and support outside of my medical life (doctors, appointments, nurses, etc) through my support group and organizations such as yours. SO THANK YOU! I am still in active treatment, but I already feel so changed, and you’re right, there isn’t going back. Those words were impactful. I took a screenshot of the blog Cancer Warrior! That is so very true! I really like redefining the language, and warrior encompasses all Cancer fighters. Thank you for the great blogs. They did come at a time when I was feeling despondent and were very helpful.

I received my chemo care kit from Beyond Basic Needs, and I am extremely grateful. Finding out you have cancer is one of the worst news you could possibly receive. Then, going through treatment takes a big toll on you. This Chemo Care Kit gave me something to look forward to, and opening it made me very happy. Every item given was very thoughtful, from the ginger chews to the port pillow. Thank you guys so much for helping us through this.

Two weeks ago, I was diagnosed with Cancer. I was pretty well in the dumps, as this is the 7th time I’ve had to fight the beast. I signed up for a Chemo Care Kit. It came pretty fast and put a smile on my face! It’s so nice to know folks care.

I would like to take a moment and thank all of you from the bottom of my heart and with all my being for the wonderful items that I received in the mail. I wasn’t expecting so many, so you can imagine my wide eyes when I saw all of those lovely items!! I will wear each and every one of them with pride and gratitude. All of the items are just lovely, and I just don’t have adequate words to convey my gratitude.

For all the volunteers who donate their precious craft skills and time to making another person’s quality of life a better place, I wish many blessings upon them. My daughter is 18 years old. She has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She is newly diagnosed and is overwhelmed by chemo and targeted therapy, then she will have radiation and surgery. The treatment is so aggressive and hard on her. Her world has been flipped upside down. A few weeks ago, she had two credits left to graduate. I reached out to many organizations looking for any kind of support/advice to help me as I started the breast cancer journey. The only one to reach out was Beyond Basic Needs. They send me a wonderful support package filled with very nice necessary items. They brought me joy in a time of darkness. When I am financially able to donate, I will as I feel this organization truly cares. I have another year and a half to go until my treatments are done and I never realized how expensive cancer treatments are. I hope they work.
