Chemo Care Kits

What is a chemo care kit?
A chemo care kit is a package filled with items specifically chosen to help someone going through chemotherapy feel more comfortable and supported.

It is not just a package. It is a moment of relief in the middle of the battle for your life.

What’s included in a chemo care kit?

Each kit typically includes:

  • A port pillow for seatbelt protection
  • Comfortable socks
  • Lip balm and hydration support items
  • Snacks and small comfort items

Everything is chosen to help ease the physical side effects of treatment while also lifting someone’s spirit.

Why are these items important?
Chemotherapy can cause discomfort, dryness, fatigue, and emotional strain.

These kits are designed to address those realities in simple but meaningful ways, helping patients feel seen and supported during treatment.

Who receives these kits?
Chemo care kits are sent to individuals across the United States currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

We focus on meeting people where they are, during one of the most challenging moments of their lives.

How do I request a chemo care kit?
You can request a kit directly through the website when inventory is available.

If kits are temporarily unavailable, you can join the waitlist while more funding is raised.

Is the chemo care kit free?
The kit itself is fully donated.

We only ask for a small shipping contribution when possible to help cover delivery costs.

Who is eligible to receive a kit?
Currently, kits are available to individuals in the United States.

This allows us to manage shipping costs and ensure kits arrive reliably.

How long does it take to receive a kit?
Timing depends on availability and demand.

When kits are in stock, they are shipped as quickly as possible so support arrives when it is needed most.

Will I receive tracking information?
Yes. We process orders on Mondays and typically ship by Wednesday.
You will receive an email with the tracking URL as soon as it is available.
What happens if my package doesn't arrive?
Please check your email to find the tracking link.

If you’ve provided an incorrect address, the package will be returned to us.

If your package shows as delivered, please contact the USPS and provide the tracking number. They will be able to provide the next steps.

When should someone request a chemo care kit?
As soon as chemotherapy is part of the treatment plan.

The earlier support shows up, the more it can help.

Who should not request a kit?
If you are not currently undergoing chemotherapy, this program may not be the right fit.

We prioritize those actively in treatment to ensure support goes where it is needed most.

Donations

How are chemo care kits funded?
Every kit is funded through donations.

There are no large sponsors or hidden funding streams. Just people choosing to help other people.

What does my donation actually do?
Your donation directly funds the creation and delivery of chemo care kits.

That means your contribution turns into something real that lands in someone’s hands during treatment.

Are donations tax deductible?
Yes. Beyond Basic Needs is a registered 501(c)(3), so donations may be tax deductible in the United States.
How much does it cost to send a kit?
A small donation can cover the cost of shipping a chemo care kit to someone in need.

Even a single contribution can directly impact one person’s experience during treatment.

Where does the money go?
100% of donations go directly into creating and delivering chemo care kits.

This is a volunteer-led organization, which means funds go to impact, not overhead.
