Chemo Care Kit Build Day

2 Hours. 1,000 Chemo Care Kits. Local Impact.

In just 2 hours, your team can bring comfort, dignity, and hope to 1,000 local cancer patients.

We’ll guide you every step of the way.

A Hands-On Way to Make a Difference

This is more than an event — it’s a chance to come together, connect, and create something that truly matters.

Your team spends two hours packing chemo care kits, but the impact will be felt long after your Build Day is over.

We supply the kit contents order list, provide clear instructions (and why each component is important), and help you connect with a local cancer center if you don’t already have one in mind.

What’s Inside Each Chemo Care Kit

Comfort essentials like cozy socks, lip balm, hand cream, ginger chews, eye masks, journals, and more—each selected to ease common side effects and offer warmth during treatment.

A soft, seat‑belt‑attached Port Pillow, to cushion the chemo port and protect against discomfort during car rides.

How It Works

Host a Build Day to assemble complete chemo care kits with your organization.

1. Fund the Kit Contents

Each kit costs approximately $10 when ordering for a standard Build Day of 250 kits ($2,540).

Larger Build Days benefit from bulk purchasing, which lowers the per-kit cost:

100 Kits $11.77 each ($1,178)
250 Kits $10.16 each ($2,540)
500 Kits $9.40 each ($4,700)
1,000 Kits $9.27 each ($9,266)

2. Find a Port Pillow Maker

A port pillow is a small cushion designed to shield the chemo port from irritation or pressure caused by a car’s seat belt. Ports, surgically placed under the skin near the chest, make chemotherapy easier to administer but can be sensitive and painful if bumped.

The port pillow attaches to the seat belt with Velcro, forming a soft barrier that makes every car ride—whether to treatment, the doctor, or a simple outing—more comfortable.

If you have a volunteer who wants to make port pillows locally, we’ll provide sewing patterns and instructions.

If not, we’ll connect you with our network of makers.

3. Receive Materials before Build Day

We will order and ship all of the materials to your chosen location.

4. Host Your 2-Hour Build Day

Gather together and pack the kits. Our step-by-step guide ensures everyone in your organization can help.

5. Deliver Locally

Drop the kits at your local cancer center (or we can help coordinate delivery).
